Quick notes about Bushwhackers in the mountains
--------------------

Sandy Weil, Allen Jones, Jerry Heitkamp, Ken Finch and Doxey Kemp visited Mexico’s Orizaba volcano in February. The trip featured sunshine and warmth, and came with remote villages and high elevations. See the feature article by Doxey Kemp.

In July, Perry Weinberg, David May, Shauna McDaniel, Robbie Singal and Doxey Kemp hiked the Dosewallips River trail to Mount Anderson. Sunshine and summits were had by all, and perhaps the only disappointment was the lack of bear sightings.

Many of the usual suspects and some new ones, hiked up the Milk Creek valley to the north side of Glacier Peak. Participants were Doxey Kemp, Perry Weinberg, Doug Hagen, Shawn and Cheryl Chriest, Roz Adams, Kevin Hines, and Michael Hawk. Crevasses on the route thwarted summiting, but overall the trip was a smashing success.

In August, the intrepid threesome Doug Hagen, Steve Short and Doxey Kemp made their way to the glaciers of Snowfield Peak. The summit was still in the distance when time expired and they started back. All vowed to return and try it again.

With the glacier climbing season winding down, four-some David May, Kevin Hines, Doug Hagen and Doxey Kemp trekked to Mt. Olympus. Blazing sunshine made the glaciers gleam, and the summit was stupendous. See Doug Hagen's feature article.

In addition, Bushwackers were spotted in the wilderness at Toil Peak, Mailbox Peak, Persis, Silver Star and others.
