This can be done as a one day outing, or for more adventure, a good snowcamp can be put in right atop the Knob.  Then the next day make the crux crossing of a narrow ridge, which then opens up for a stupendous snow hike along Stetattle Ridge with views into the rugged Picket Range of the Cascades.
