Are you a beginner interested in learning to telemark ski? Are you a tele-skier who's looking to get past that intermediate hump? Maybe you're an alpiner or snowboarder who'd like to see why those tele skiers are always having such a good time! If so, we have a telemark ski clinic that's tailored to you.

The Bushwhacker Climbing Club offers its Telemark Ski clinic in a total of three sessions; one evening gear clinic, and two full days of instruction at the lifts. Instruction is divided into three groups.

  • Total Beginner -- For those who have never skied before, and want to learn the power of free-heelin' from the get-go!
  • New to Tele -- For those who have skiing or riding experience, and are ready to free the heel!
  • Advanced/Intermediate -- For telemark skiers looking to transition into tougher terrain and steeps.

Student-to-teacher ratio is usually about 4-1 and each instructor is an experienced skier with a passion for teaching. The lesson plan will vary according to the needs of the students

Meet new friends who love the mountains, or come out and learn to ski with old buddies. If the carve and glide of telemark skiing is appealing to you, learn how to free the heel in style with the Bushwhackers this January!

Course Outline

  • Thursday Jan 17th. 6-9pm
The staff of Marmot Mountain works in Bellevue will give us a rundown of Telemark ski gear, styles, and latest technology. We'll break for lunch together then continue practice and pointers until 4:00 pm. Afterward we'll return to the cars at North Bend.
  • Sunday, Jan 27th
The schedule will be the same as the session on the 20th, as we cover new skills.
